The Head, the heart and highly polished bronze
with Dorte Kloppenborg Skrumsager
When confronted with the above 4ft sculpture by Dorte Skrumsager, one would be forgiven for slipping into the ‘art for aesthetics sake’ frame of mind and thinking that it just looks bloody good. Such brilliantly polished dripping bronze, on a 70 kilogram oak plinth is nothing less than aesthetically stunning. The stark combination of contrasting materials plus the pure, bright sheen of such an industrial and heavy weight metal, largely reserved for equestrian statues and by-gone kings, is quite marvellous.
